Job Description:
The Mechanical Systems Product Technical Manager is responsible for the design, development, and integration of aircraft, weapon platforms, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and other related mechanical systems with secondary emphasis in the fields of electro-mechanical Actuation, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Manufacturing processes.
The Technical Manager must be able to read, interpret, and create requirements documents, Test plans and procedures, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day actions of their group, to include, but not limited to:
conducting meetings, managing timesheets, managing PTO with schedules, conducting reviews.
The Technical Manager will manage the development of mechanical technologies that are aligned to the company technology roadmap.
They will maintain, develop and execute to standard work on specific projects/technologies as identified by the Director of Engineering.
Additionally he/she will assist the Director of Engineering in coaching other Mechanical Engineers to develop Design skills and work to the Departmental goals.
Job Requirements and
Qualifications:
Knowledge A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
Working knowledge of Project Management Planning (PMP) to include Cost and schedule experience.
Working knowledge and experience in mechanical/electro-mechanical systems and the applications of electro-hydraulic components.
Working knowledge of component design including material selection, tolerance assignment and heat-treat selections.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledge of (and ability to apply) detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, simulation (eg thermal & stress) and design verification testing, as required.
Work in a cross-functional, agile team that includes Systems Engineering, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Test Systems, Software, and Project Engineering.
Working knowledge of standard work, metrics and continous improvement.

, 5S, Lean Six Sigma, etc) Working knowledge of military/aerospace design standards/specifications Working knowledge of root cause and corrective action tools and processes Skills and Abilities Ability to lead and manage a Product/Design/Technical teams.
Ability to analyze and produce technical reports in support of customer proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of those designs and applications.
Ability to design and conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, operation, and performance of equipment, components and systems.
Ability to analyze problematic situations, seek relevant data, diagnose information in order to solve problems and generalize alternative methods to identify the best possible solution.
Ability to effectively interface with customers, team members and individuals in technical discussions and solutions.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
